Take the Arnold Palmer to a New Level This Spring & Summer.

Spring is here, and summer is coming. Whether you are planning events with friends or looking to enjoy refreshing drinks at home, we have some suggestions at Hackberry Tea. You’re probably familiar with the Arnold Palmer. It’s a simple, delicious, and popular drink. All you do is mix lemonade with iced tea.

History of the Arnold Palmer

Arnold Palmer was a highly successful golfer who used an unorthodox swing and played aggressively, unlike many other players. He won a total of 92 tournaments. Sixty-two of them were on the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA). He was the first golfer to win the Masters Tournament four times. If you’re not a golf fan, you may wonder what iced tea and lemonade have to do with golf. No one knows precisely how the “Arnold Palmer” really happened. It’s thought that it started because Arnold Palmer, with his wife, made the drink at home, and he would take a thermos of the deliciously refreshing drink. While working on designing a golf course, he went to get a drink and asked for a mix of lemonade and iced tea. Someone sitting at the bar said I’ll have what he’s having, I’ll have an Arnold Palmer, and the drink was born. It’s become so significant that ESPN in 2012 created a 30 for 30 Short the Arnold Palmer’s history. You can watch the history of Arnold Palmer himself in the episode. It’s a humorous sketch of how the drink came to be and the different ways to drink it. I’m a big sports fan. I’m game anytime you can connect drinks I love and sports.

Take the Arnold Palmer to a New Level

One of the things I have learned since joining Hackberry Tea is that you have innumerable options for tea. We decided to take the Arnold Palmer to a new level. I recently hosted Easter and decided to mix three Hackberry Teas with lemonade, and they were a huge hit. They were so successful; I felt compelled to share them with our Hackberry Tea customers. The recipe is straightforward.

  1. Brew tea according to brewing instructions.
  2. Allow the tea to cool.
  3. Pour tea over ice.
  4. Add lemonade or limeade.
  5. Enjoy

Or, you can use an iced tea maker to brew the tea before adding your lemonade/limeade. Watch our iced tea brewing guide!

Blueberry Burst Green Rooibos

I love adding lime whenever I can. The combination of the blueberry flavor with lime was perfect. It wasn’t too tart or too sweet and offered a full fruity flavor.

Strawberry Fields

I mixed lemonade with Strawberry Fields, and it was reminiscent of strawberry lemonade. It is a great caffeine-free option with great flavor and bright color.

Raspberry Black

Raspberry Black is the closest one we tried to the traditional Arnold Palmer, while still adding something a little extra. Our Raspberry Black has a bold raspberry flavor, and when you put it together with lemonade, the mixture of fruit and tea takes the traditional Arnold Palmer to a whole new level. It was delicious, refreshing, and fruity.
