Recipe of the Month | Earth Matcha Latte

Did you know that April is Earth Month? The whole month is dedicated to celebrating our planet and mother nature, something we at Hackberry are very passionate about. We have an article on sustainability in the tea industry coming out on Earth Day, the 22nd, and wanted to dedicate our Recipe of the Month to mother nature as well - The Earth Matcha Latte.

Earth Matcha Latte

 Ingredients:

Instructions:

  • Measure two teaspoons of our Calm Mango Beach in a tea bag or infuser and steep at 210 degrees Fahrenheit for four minutes.
  • Measure 1½ teaspoons of Ceremonial Grade Matcha into a matcha bowl. Pour about 2 tablespoons of 180 degrees Fahrenheit water into the bowl and whisk with a matcha whisk.
  • When Calm Mango Beach tea is done steeping, pour it into the bottom of a cup with ½ a teaspoon of simple syrup.
  • Add ice to the cup and then pour your choice of milk over the ice but do not mix. By not mixing the drink, you will create the colorful earthy pattern that we are going for.
  • Top off with the whisked matcha and ta-dah! Your Earth Day Matcha Latte is ready.

Once you are ready to drink your latte, you will want to mix all the ingredients together. Please note that this will get rid of the earthy pattern and create a decadent all-green matcha color.
